The investigation alleges that B of A and Ocwen Financial (NYSE: OCN  ) as mortgage servicers misrepresented the status of homes to mortgage bond trustees, including Wells Fargo (NYSE: WFC  ) and Bank of New York Mellon (NYSE: BK  ) . While it was continuing to collect fees by stating the homes were still in the process of foreclosure, the homes had in fact been sold or paid off.
